Changing Your Password for UAWiFi

Windows XP and Mac OS X users: If your NetID password is changed, and you want to connect to UAWiFi, you will need to follow the instructions below.

In Windows XP ZeroConfig

If your NetID password is changed, and you want to connect to UAWiFi, you will need to change the password stored in Windows ZeroConfig. To do so, follow the instructions below. You only need to follow these instructions if you have changed your NetID password.

1. Close any windows currently open.

2. Open the Start menu and click on "Run."

3. Type "cmd" in the window that appears and click OK.

4. At the command prompt, type the following:
reg delete hkcu\software\microsoft\eapol\usereapinfo /f
(Please note that there needs to be a space before the final "/f")

5. Press Enter. This will remove the saved username and password from your registry.

6. Log off or Restart Windows XP

7. Next time you connect to UAWiFi, Windows will ask you for your username and password.

8. Enter your NetID username and new password

In Mac OS X Leopard (10.5)

If your NetID password is changed, and you want to connect to UAWiFi, you may need to change the password stored in Keychain Access. To do so, follow the instructions below. You only need to follow these instructions if you have changed your NetID password.

1. Open a Finder window and navigate to Applications -> Utilities.

2. Launch the "Keychain Access" application.

3. Type "UAWifi" in the search box. Delete any login items you might find.

4. Launch "System Preferences" and click "Network". Then double click on AirPort. Click "Advanced", and then double click "UAWifi".

5. Type your new password in the Password Box, and click "Add".

6. Click "OK".

7. Next time you connect to UAWiFi, you will be asked for your username and password.

8. Enter your NetID username and new password.

In Mac OS X Tiger(10.4)

If your NetID password is changed, and you want to connect to UAWiFi, you may need to change the password stored in Keychain Access. To do so, follow the instructions below. You only need to follow these instructions if you have changed your NetID password.

1. Open a Finder window and navigate to Applications -> Utilities.

2. Launch the "Keychain Access" application.

3. Type "UAWifi" in the search box. Delete any login items you might find.

4. Quit the "Keychain Access" application, and restart the computer.

5. Next time you connect to UAWiFi, you will be asked for your username and password.

6. Enter your NetID username and new password.
