The Canon VIXIA HV30 captures true 1080 High Definition resolution video in 16:9 format, using MiniDV cassette tapes. Its true 16:9 widescreen HD image is made for HD widescreen TV. Other features include:

- SuperRange Optical Image Stabilization
- Instant Auto Focus
- Canon 10x HD video zoom lens
- Widescreen 0.27" Color Viewfinder (Approx 123,000 pixels)
- 2.7" Widescreen LCD (Approx. 211,000 pixels)

The VIXIA HV30 also gives you the flexibility to record in SD (standard definition) mode. That means you can acheive the ultimate in HD video and photo quality, and still shoot SD video for viewing on your non-HD equipment.

  • UA students can check out gear-to-go for course projects.
  • Gear-to-go is available through the Gear to Go Center.
  • Students must have Faculty Sponsorship to be authorized to check out our Gear-to-Go, and some of our equipment requires training prior to check out. If you are not yet Faculty Sponsored visit our sponsorship page.
  • Equipment can be reserved up to two weeks in advance, and most gear can be checked out for a maximum of 2 days. Equipment is always due back by 3pm on the day it is due. For example, if the equipment is checked out on Monday at 10am, it will be due back on Wednesday no later than 3pm. If the equipment is checked out on 5pm on Wednesday, it will be due no later than Friday at 3pm. All Saturday checkouts must be returned at 3pm the following Monday.
  • Reservations can be made via phone or in person.
