UA CBT (Computer-based Training) offers FREE computer training to UA NetID holders (instructors, students, employees). These tutorials are made available to support staff development and to enhance students' learning experience. Currently the UA has a contract with the Virtual Training Center to provide access to over 240 tutorials, covering a broad range of topics and applications, including:
Most tutorials have between five and fifteen hours of content. Each tutorial is divided into lessons from 2-10 minutes long on average. The tutorials are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Each lesson is a QuickTime movie (.mov file) that opens in a new browser window. Learners may open and work in a software application while watching the lesson and may stop, start, rewind, and review each lesson as often as desired. System Requirements:
Certification: Currently, there is no certification program sponsored by the UA, because the VTC tutorials do not provide assessment or testing functions. Tutorials should be considered as preparatory content for a certification exam. More about certification Reports: Each user may view and print a report of the lessons that s/he has viewed. CDs: CDs of tutorials may be purchased directly from VTC. UA NetID holders are eligible for a 50% discount. Go to http://uacbt.arizona.edu/ to login and use UA CBT. |
