UA Information Technology Student Advisory Board

A collaboration between the Associated Students of the University of Arizona ( ASUA), the Graduate & Professional Student Council (GPSC)
and the Office of Student Computing Resources (OSCR).


Mission

To identify effective methods for fulfilling and finding students information technology priorities, articulate students priorities regarding information technology to key stakeholders affiliated with the University of Arizona community, and assess outcomes of information technology initiatives.

Student Advisory Board Overview

The Information Technology Student Advisory Board serves as a framework for increased collaboration and communication among students regarding information technology, and among University of Arizona information technology service providers and students. The Advisory Board includes a broad and diverse representation of the student body tasked with identifying students needs and desires regarding information technology and conveying students needs and desires along with securing funding means and methods for fulfilling those priorities.

Desired Outcome
  • Identify student priorities regarding information technology.
  • Produce a specific 5 year and general 10 year information technology strategic plan.
  • Identify methods for evaluating and assessing outcomes of information technology implementation.
  • Provide recommendations to the University of Arizona Administration and Arizona Board of Regents regarding information technology funding solutions.
  • Oversee implementation of the information technology strategic plan to ensure that results accurately meet the immediate and long term needs of students.
  • Recommend appropriate changes in the Information Technology Strategic Plan as student needs evolve.
Membership

The Information Technology Student Advisory Board may include representatives, including but not limited to, the following groups and organizations:

  • Associated Students
  • Graduate and Professional Student Council
  • Residence Hall Association
  • Greek Life
  • Off campus students
  • Multicultural Students (AASA, CHSA, NASA, APASA)
  • Professional Students (medical, law, MBA)
  • College Representatives
  • Clubs & Student Organizations
