What I do:
I am a half time Support Systems Analyst, Sr for the Office of Student Computing Resources. I do a little bit of everything, but my primary duties are taking care of the windows servers maintenance schedule, figuring out CATNET issues, and troubleshooting whatever comes down the pipe. I also work for the department of Computer Science LEARN lab as their web and software administrator.
Background:
I graduated from the UofA with a BA in Linguistics in Summer of 2007 and an MS in Human Language Technology in Winter of 2008. I worked as a student worker for OSCR from the summer of 2004 to the summer of 2007. I am interested in speech recognition, endangered language documentation and revitalization, data mining complex databases and machine translation. I have worked for Rosetta Stone on their speech recognition engine, as well as their Endangered Language program. I love dogs, my girlfriend and I have volunteered and fostered with Animal Rescue Foundation since 2006. Contact me if you need more fuzzy things in your life.
